Greetings!! i was most surprised to see in my favorite record shop that Nonesuch had reissued "MAR AZUL" by the international diva of Cape Verdian roots.. the wonderful Mama Cize.. Ms. Cesaria Evora after its original issue in 1991. But if Warner/Nonesuch has purchased the entire Lusafrica catagolue for US distribution why not expand on those reissues for the usa fans... I think this re-issue could have included a few more tracks since the original is clocking in at only 34:31.. Papa Joachim Paris as well as maybe Angola remix would have been nice... so would her rendition of Terra Longe... But actually, I am wondering if this re-issue is in place of a new album after the smash success of CABO VERDE? I think the usa fans deserve to hear more from Ms. Evora, Bau, Chico Serra, and the whole cap vert musical community... and if anybody hears of a house for sale on Sao Nicolau.. email me like yesterday...
