TRAC - Text Recorder and Compiler

TRAC as a tool was designed for massive manipulation of
Textual Information. When the "straight 8" was new at
"the mill" TRAC was already being bantered around by
software developers there. It's simple design allowed
for the storing and editing of large quantities of
freeform information, searches of the freeform, and
in a simplistic way "hotlinks" to other freeform data.

I believe its roots come from the work of a small
consulting firm in Cambridge. For a time it was
the signature language of the R.E.S.I.S.T.O.R.S.,
one of the earliest unoffical Student Based Mini
Computer Users Groups - but then thats another story.

( Soory about the bad user pointer but I am behind a
  firewall at GTE Data Services.
