Claude Kagan is a regular at the Trenton Computer Festival, where he keeps pushing SAM76. He calls TRAC "baby talk" because it has so few primitives. Frankly, SAM76 suffers from primitive bloat. FTP Software is using TRAC for their dialer scripting program. And yes, they licensed the name from Mooers' estate (he's dead now). Somewhere in my archives I have a Certified Mail receipt from Calvin's wife, acknowledging the receipt of a letter requesting use of the TRAC trademark (he said no). My Freemacs editor is based on MINT (MINT Is Not TRAC). Still runs on 166 Mhz Pentiums with 16Mbytes of memory, although it originally ran on 8088's with 128Kb memory. :) |
