The correct way to integrate a better editor is to use the object embedding facilities of the platform to embed a better editing object than the default one. On Windows that means OLE, on OS/2 and Mac, OpenDoc (real soon now) and on Unix, Fresco (I guess). I would suspect that this feature will be in the next round of Windows browsers, and the round of OS/2 and mac browsers that follow the release of OpenDoc. Unix? Who knows. Paul Prescod |
