Adding 'date' automatically

I realize the 'new' icon helps with identifying newer posts but wouldn't a 'date' be really helpful? Is there a funciton built in to hypernews? I could not find it anywhwere but I see a version of Hypernews running at:
http://www.netex.net/w95/hypernews/

that has dates added...maybe by some script etc..
