Not too many people will run into this problem. But I thought
I'd better mention it.
In 1.9B5.4,
I lowered the threshold for the length of group lines from
6000 to 1000, with the effect that 6 times as many groups will
be created. (This is all to avoid the problem with the
NCSA httpd server not allowing too many users in one group.) But
now I learned that we hit the limit on the number of
groups on one line in the .htaccess file. This is on
union where we have about 2000 members. With all these
problems concerning groups, I'm tempted to do something
completely different.
