You probably don't need to respond here (I will be notified) unless you think the bug hasn't been fixed, or needs a different fix, or perhaps you found a new bug with an old version and you are not sure whether it applies to the new version.

For 1.9B4.2, the following are some prominant bugs fixed in 1.9B5:

Infinite loops during preview of responses deeper than level 3 and embedding
In 1.9B4.2, there are two infinite loops. Both seem to be fixed by the same thing: posted here and here.

Another previewing failure
In 1.9B4.2, previewing fails with Perl 4 (or is it a regexp library problem?). This is fixed by a patch.

thread.pl had some minor problems
fixed with patches

Help link bad
There are two problems with the help link - one (spaces before '#') was fixed in 1.9 final. The other one, fixed in 1.9.1, is that the $instructionsURL in your hnrc file should use double quotes. But you need to customize your help page anyway, so this bug (unintentional, I assure you) will stop quite so many people from getting lost on union.ncsa.uiuc.edu.

Non-member Names and URLs ignored
When adding messages, the preview page shows the author name and URL, if given, even for non-members, but the final posted message shows them as missing. Two small fixes are required.

Fixed in 1.9.1.

fixPerlPath broken
The fixPerlPath script should have a "-wpi" option on the first line, e.g. "#!/usr/local/bin/perl -wpi" Fixed in 1.9.1.

Internet Explorer 3.0 doesn't get HyperNews command link images
We should have been detecting that it accepts "*/*" as well as "image/gif". Fixed in 1.9.1.

Don't notify me - broken
Simple fix posted in messages. Fixed in 1.9.1.

Netscape browser crashes
Obviously, this is a Netscape bug in version 2.x, but we should try to avoid it if resonably possible. In 1.9.1, I added some JavaScript to display help messages in the status bar. Who would have guessed this could crash your browser? To avoid the crash, one must include the WIDTH and HEIGHT attributes for images. (I'm told this doesn't fix the whole problem. The easiest workaround is to remove all the JavaScript. Look through hnview.pl for all the onMouseOver attributes and comment them out. )
