When I was made administrator of our HyperNews server I received an email saying that there were no changes in my membership-info. However, my email address did appear on the places where the administrator's email address appears. My old password does not work anymore. Now, we cannot create new base articles or do any maintenance anymore!

1) What went wrong?

2) How can I solve this problem? (Will removing the .htaccess file automatically make HyperNews create a new one?)

We are using HyperNews 1.9B5.6 and the latest NCSA httpd. Any help is appreciated!
