Question HyperNews and Caldera desktop....

Forum: HyperNews Installation
Date: 1996, Mar 27
From: David Black

Hello -

I've just installed the Caldera Network Desktop (a new package built on top of Red Hat Linux). Since I already had HyperNews fully up and running on my other disk, I basically installed the whole httpd hierarchy by linking it symbolically to the Caldera disk. This includes HyperNews and various documents.

The problem at the moment is.... it doesn't work. Any 'get' request returns a server error (malformed header in script).

I need to solve this problem pretty quickly, because I don't want our main HyperNews-based page to be down for too long.

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas.... Oh, one more clue. If I do a 'get' when booted up the old (non-Caldera) way, not only does it work, but if I save the resulting HTML, and then access that saved file under Caldera, that also works.

Could it be too many symbolic links?

Thanks for any ideas -
