Question HyperText causes CGI display error

Forum: HyperNews Instructions

From: Rick

I can add a messages and reply to messages even though I get this error-message after posting:

------------------------- Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. -------------------------

I can Preview the Message fine, but when I post it, the above error appears. Then when I go back, the new messages and replies are on the board.

This leads me to conclude it's a display problem where the CGI isn't delivering the HTML to the browser correctly. Once when I wrote a script and forgot the line,

print "Content-type: html/text\n\n";

I got this same error. The fact the messages are on the board and fine, indicates to me the screen that is supposed to tell the poster their post was put on the board, is causing an error.

How can I troubleshoot to locate the error and fix it in the preview-response.cgi and add-response.cgi scripts?
