Daniel, all the troubles I experienced in version 1.9.3 (like the server error) are gone and it seems to work perfectly. :-D

I did set my mail notification to "none" as you suggested, and have a feeling this caused the error to disappear. (I would prefer not having mail notification, anyway, as it poses a security risk for the type of application I'm using.)
Will let you know when the new forum goes officially public here for everyone to visit (the moderators are running tests on it to satisfy those who fund the site that it works without flaws before its grand opening). For now Daniel, I have emailed you the URL so you can take a pre-opening peek since you're the guy who made it all possible. :-)
In the meantime everyone's invited to to be our guests on the board I'm running presently (and will continue to run concurrently with the new HyperText board). All we ask is you remain on-topic and it will give you an idea of how other forum software (written in Perl) looks running on "WWWBOARD" by Matt Wright (from Matt's Script Archive, this can be found on Yahoo by using "wwwboard" as search word, as if anyone here isn't familiar with it - his site is where I found the URL to this one!).
