Yes, both using and installing HyperNews for the first time is rather like navigating a truely labyrinthine maze.

I'd like to suggest that it would be quite a good idea to re-write both the end-user and particularly the installation instructions. The end user help is so comprehensive that the mere mortal type of person feels: "I'll never master this if I have to learn all that just to post a message".

The product itself is far too good to fall by the wayside, because it all looks too "scary".

I wonder if it is feasable to make a version which had "morons-mode" as well as the currently fully featured "geek-mode" which could be invoked if you actually need any of the the advanced features.

Several of my users have mentioned that all those icon buttons and options really are rather off-putting.

btw, It's my opinion that Lotus Notes is even worse. The docs for that are totally opaque. Yet is is very popular.
