While I can appreciate that the interface has gotten rather complex, there are two ways to simplify it. One is to hide things as you suggest, but I worry that most people will never find out that life could be simpler by learning a few things.

The other way to simplify is to package things in a better way, so that functions are not completely invisible, but still available. I could combine the Admin and Move/Remove buttons, and make them only visible to those who can use them in the first place. I could use popups for the various display adjustments (inline, outline, frame, etc).

Believe it or not, there are more features I would like to add, such as collaborative reference lists and ratings by readers. Making it all intuitive will take some experimentation, no doubt.

One concern is that there should only be a small number of different display formats, so that documents are more cachable for reuse by others.

Concerning the documentation, I'd welcome any suggestions or even rewrites of the document. Furthermore, I'm actually looking for people such as yourself to help manage parts of this site, since the overall job has become huge, and I need to resume software development efforts. Let me know if you are interested.
