Fortunately, I know what you are talking about because I worked a bit on
the LiveUniverse site, but otherwise I would not. There are many sites
that use regular HyperNews and variants.
I don't know all the mechanisms used, but the LU forums are created
dynamically as needed and I believe they are also cleaned up and removed
automatically when they are not being used. So to keep messages around
longer, you and others have to keep posting messages.
If the messages are removed too soon, perhaps you should talk with the
system administrator to get a longer delay. They should also probably
have their own instructions rather than point to these generic
instructions.
