Question Hypernews kicks off members

Forum: Instructions for Becoming a Member
Date: 1997, Feb 18
From: Alicia Coolidge

We have successfully installed Hypernews 1.9.2 on our
Redhat Linux 2.0 machine running Apache 1.1.1-3. We have
Perl 5.003 running and viewing Hypernews with Netscape Navigator 3.0.

Our problem is that Users can add themselves as a member,
but their membership seems to time out. They can set up
a name and password which will only work a certain number
of days, and then Hypernews tells them that their password
is invalid.

Is something overwriting their accounts, or is Hypernews
refreshing it's memory by deleting "unactive" members?
Any help on this would be appreciated. Thank you.
