Something must be overwriting membership info

There is no membership timeout feature in HyperNews, though that might be interesting. Could it be a coincidence on top of a bug? If the .htgroupmembers file or .htgroupaccess files are not written correctly when someone joins, that could apparently wipe out all the existing members. You can check when their membership info was last changed by looking at the date on the file. Check that the encrypted password contained there is the same as the one in the .htaccess file. dan |
