I am having an occasional problem with people signing up
as members and then the .htpasswd and member files not getting
written. They don't get a confirming e-mail either.
I don't know that the user didn't do something wrong, of course,
as I haven't had this happen myself.
This is a membership-only site and is new, so there is
considerable sign-up activity. I did note that in the latest
case (I haven't checked the others) somebody else had signed
up right around the same time. I could almost beleive that
the .htpasswd file should be being locked but isn't but that
wouldn't explain the lack of a member file.
Any ideas?
