Question Members posting messages in non-SECURED forums

Forum: HyperNews Source
Date: 1997, Jul 01
From: Lazy Jones

I have HyperNews set up so that anyone can post messages to a forum. However, members (or is it just Admins?) need to prove that the address they entered belongs to them by entering a password every time they post a message. I thought that it would be simpler if hn required this authentication only once (as in SECURED forums) by optionally entering the SECURED/ area and using the HTTPD's prompt for members/Admins, and *staying* there (if I change the URL to point to the SECURED/ subdirectory, the script edit-article.pl will go back to the normal area before calling the preview script and get confused. Am I doing something wrong, overlooking something trivial, or just wasting everyone's time? :-)
