Dear Dan,
We are studying the possibilities installing HN for tamil@tamil.net mailing list. A few members of tami.net
may only have mail access. NO web access.
We decided that we would write a script that will scan
the "Subject" of the mail for "Subscribe" and "Unsubscribe"
commands applied on the forum mentioned in Newsgroup header
entry. That is, giving atleast Forum Level Subscription
facility for email-only users.
In addition to this we thought we will just inform the
members about the creation of New Base Articles. They
can use the above said script to subscribe if they wish.
Above decisions make email-only users have access to HN
forums. Logically each HN forum is a mailing list for them.
This feature makes it possible for a user of INTR*A*NET
web site to participate in the discussions using just
email when s/he is outside the intranet.
Are we on right path??? Expecting your valuable suggestions.
