The page is growing steadily therefore we need to organise
the data about genealogy in a simple and effective way. Here
is what I propose:
- There is already an existing standard for genealogy data,
it is called GEDCOM (it is simply a text file containing
the genealogy data and keywords identifying the type of data)
Most, if not all Genealogy softwares (including those mentionned
on this page) can import GEDCOM data and export it as well.
- We can see from the different messages on the page that there
are different "branches" of Laliberte families, Laisne dit
Laliberte, Alexandre dit Laliberte, Roireau dit Laliberte etc...
- We should have someone responsible to maintain a GEDCOM file for
a specific branch and upload it to the page regularly when new
information about that branch is posted on the page by participants.
- I already started this work for the Laisne dit Laliberte branch.
I regularly update the GEDCOM file found under message no 7.
- So now we need some other person who would like to do this
little maintenance job (it really doesn't take time at all) for
the other branches. If you are interested to do so, get yourself
a good genealogy software that fully supports GEDCOM (I use
WINFAM and am very satisfied with it, see message on page).
- There is already a lot of genealogy data about the Roireau
branch on the page so you guys from the Roireau clan should
get yourself going ! :-)
