Hi again, I sent you that note earlier but maybe it did not get through...

I processed your gedcom into my genealogy software, quite impressive ! We are linked through Pierre Laisne, the son of Bernard. I also realised that you are "closely" linked to Richard Dick Laliberte (who posted some stuff on the page) through Jacques Laliberte, the father of your great grand father Mathias !

I know it is not very convenient to post a gedcom using netscape or whatever and hypernews. I uploaded mine on my compuserve page. Have you seen what Vivs has done, he translated his gedcom into html, quite cool. See the replies to message no 2. We should do the same, but I think we still need the GEDCOM format for people to build their own tree.

Some technical issues regarding your GEDCOM:

I could not get the notes fields from it, unfortunately, and I think you could not either get my notes out of my gedcom cause they do not appear anymore. Too bad, we should try to find a way to keep this important information.

My gedcom had 280 names, the one you posted has 424 names so your original gedcom had 144 names. But I think it has more cause I realise some of the persons I had in mine are not anymore contain in yours Ex.: Perron families. But I know its very difficult to try to merge two gedcom, I did it myself and its just a nightmare when it comes over a 100 names. From previous posting I suggested to split the Laliberte's gedcom work in categories, definitely we can split between different branches, Roireau, Laisne, ... But even now I think to maintain one big gedcom for Bernard Laisne descendants might be too much, maybe we should split it further, what do you think ? I don't know. Of course if we could sit down one night around a table with a cold beer and our papers we could work it out, but over the internet it's different, besides, I don't drink beer. : )

Think about it and let me know...

Other subject: Have you received any news from Raymond Laliberte who posted earlier, he's from the Laisne side also.

And also, you did not tell me if the Pierre from Victoria you mentionned on a previous note is my brother ?

Keep in touch cousin

Hugues
