I do not see where anyone posted a response to your question. I have copied the Laliberte section of the "Recueil de Genealogies" of Beauce, Dorchester & Frontenac counties. According to this book (Vl 6, page 199) Jean Baptist Laliberte married Marguerite Hamel on August 13, 1822 at St. Croix.
Apparently Jean-B has two brothers listed here they are Joseph (who married Marie-Madeleine Blouin on Feb 2, 1807 AT St. Jean) and a brother Alexis (married Marguerite Laroche on november 23, 1824 at S.A. Tilly)
I also have listed a Joseph Laliberte who married Marie Louise Emond at St. Jean on november 25, 1782. Sorry this book does not say if this is the parent. Perhaps you might want to get the church records to verify this connection.
