BORDEAUX

Wednesday 3 December 2003
12.30 : Autograph session at Virgin Megastore. I found out about it when I arrived in Bordeaux later in the afternoon, so I can't tell you how it went.
6 p.m. : Meeting with Télérama at the Opera. Beautiful theater, light blue, 900 seats. Cecilia said it was "magical". Journalist Bernard Mérigaud asked questions about Salieri... People from the audience asked Cecilia questions about her work. They were given mikes. Cecilia didn't know where the voices were coming from, it was funny. At one point, Bernard Mérigaud said that Silvana Bazzoni, Cecilia's mother, was there, so she stood up and we all applauded. It was very moving.

Thursday 4 December 2003
Recital at the Opera. Over 1000 seats were sold.
4 encores:
GLUCK : "Di questa cetra in seno"
HAYDN : "Al tuo seno fortunato"
SALIERI : "La Ra La"
SALIERI : "Misera abbandonata"

Standing ovation. Cecilia got flowers from the Opera and candies from a little boy!
An usher who had been working at the Opera for 5 years said he had never seen a standing ovation like that, so spontaneous. I saw and heard several people crying (including myself!).

TOULOUSE

Saturday 6 December 2003
Recital at the Halle aux Grains. 2500 seats. Unfortunately, the acoustics were not great.
5 encores :
Same as in Bordeaux, but she sang "Misera abbandonata" before "La Ra La" and one more time "Non vo' gia' che vi suonino".
Great standing ovation at the end. When Cecilia finished with the last words "... e tutti gli stromenti che s'usano in citta'", everybody stood up with a big enthousiastic shout!
After the concert, we were told that Cecilia was tired and that there would be no autograph session. Lots of people left. After a while, we were told that Cecilia would sign autographs. There were not many people left, but since there was a buffet in the concert room, people found out Cecilia was signing autographs, so she ended up finishing at about 12.45!
A 17-year-old young woman told Cecilia she wanted to sing something for her. How courageous of her! She started singing, stopped after a few seconds, Cecilia told her to continue, and sang a few words with her. Silvana was watching them. Cecilia told the young woman she had a nice voice and wished her good luck.

PARIS

Monday 8 December 2003
3 encores:
GLUCK : "Di questa cetra in seno"
HAYDN : "Al tuo seno fortunato"
SALIERI :" La Ra La"

Tuesday 9 December 2003
1 p.m. : Conversation between Cecilia and journalist Bernard Mérigaud from Télérama. No questions from the public this time. Autograph session. The air conditioning was on, Cecilia kept her coat on the whole time. She wasn't feeling well.

For those of you who went to Vienna (Steffi, Karen...), I'm terribly sorry...

Catherine
