CB and weird faces

I am going to go back to the old Bartoli's weird faces topic. I have been told by a very reliable source about the cause of those faces. Bartoli, as you know, has a very small voice-- which suits her well in recordings but which can be a problem in live performances. It seems that many people (producers and directors, I guess) were pressuring her into making a bigger sound. Whenever a singer must produce a sound that is \ unnatural for her she must produce it by artificial means-- such as singing from the throat rather than from diaphram.This is something Miss Bartoli does. This inevitable causes tension which results in her facial contortions. Priya
