Please explain "shaky"!

I would like to know what you mean when you say that
Ms. Bartoli "manufactures" her sound. Her exquisite tone
and vowels, and her incredible ability with coloratura,
indicate to me that her technique is fabulous. I was lucky
enough to hear her live about two months ago, and I feel
safe in saying that those vocal pyrotechnics cannot be
'faked'. As for her staying-power, I think it's a bit
early to tell--let's wait thirty years before we make
a call on that!
