I first saw Cecelia Bartoli in Vancouver, B.C., where she was an overwhelming triumph. I have never had such an experience and the audience was absolutely wild, cheering and shouting. My hair stood on end and I became a devoted admirer. After the performance she stood in the lobby and signed her autograph to hundreds of programs, she must have been on her feet doing this for about 1 1/2 hours, gracious and lovely. When she returned after her first visit, her seats were sold out months in advance. I saw that performance, it was better than the first. I did not have a chance to get tickets to her last perfomance here, much to my regret. What a heavenly voice!
