Ah, Mariska, a woman of few but well-chosen words! Thank you for these tantalizing comments on the concert. I can but imagine the musical delights which animate the words in your memory. When you say the evening was "strenuous," I presume you refer not only to the singing, but also to the inclement weather?? But I also assume you did get there safely... I'm glad for you and Ton and everyone else who was lucky enough to be present! Myself, I can hardly think of anything more beautiful than a winter evening spent listening to Cecilia, then walking out of the warm crowded concert hall to see glistening snow flying through lamp-lit streets, outlining trees and blanketing the ground, muffling the city sounds and sparkling on wrought-iron fences and windowsills, with only memoried music echoing softly in one's ears...
