I found this article on Poverty - a subject quite interesting. How we can accept the fact that there are so many people in the World so destitute and not be able to help them is beyond me. I know the saying " do not fish for me but teach me how to fish" but are we doing enough of this. Of course during the recent days following the Tsunami lots of cash was given and hopefully reached the real needy but what about those in Africa? We have many living very poor lives in Australia as they cannot manage on the Pension. There are no "treats' for those poor retired people who have only the Pension with which to support themselves. No Hospital Fund to cover their needs; no little extra for a meal out. Just basic living conditions and basic food is little to ask.
