My boyfriend and I are also planning to thru-hike in '98. We are planning on leaving around March 1. We are also doing the northern half of the Smokies in December and we have already hiked Georgia, parts of North Carolina and Virginia. If you may be interested in going at either in December or in '98 write back soon! P.S. We are low mileage people for the first couple of days, we like to start out with 8 mile days and then work our way up from there.
