I have found that most of the paid firefighters are basically great guys who enjoy the job of fighting fires and the pay is just a benefit. They do not see us as a threat to their well being nor do they feel we are going to take thier jobs. As far as politics of fires on the borders of the city I don't know how it works. But classifing all paid FF's in the city as anti volunteer is rather unfair. I have been treated very well by them on many occasions, thses men and women are truly Brothers & Sisters regardless of career or volunteer status. We all fight the same battle.
