Re: Question Mobile Command Posts... Describe yours, Please ! (Robert Long)

I have some questions about your command post.

1) What type of tables and/or desks are your command staff using in the post? (in other words describe them. LxWxH)

1a) Do the commander(s) think they have enough desk space to do their work?

2) What is your communications setup?

3) Ever have a "brown out" because of lack of power due to way to many devices on?

4) You seem to indicate that you don't want a small kitchen area in your command post. Why? Is it too big in your case or do way to many persons "raid the fride" :-)

5) How do you have your flat maps stored?

5a) I realize flat maps would be nice in a command post but wouldn't rolled or folded maps save space?

6) What software do you use for your mapping system. Any complaints, or disadvantages of your software?

7) You mentioned that your command post still looks like a "camping vehicle", even though you have signs, antennas, flashing light(s) (I assume). My question have you ever heard any negitave comments from Professional ES personell because of the looks of your cp? I guess what i'm asking is do you think that because your command post looks like an RV type vehicle, instead of a commercial type vehicle, the "Professional ES" get a negitave attitude. Such as brush you off as "wannabees"?

8) what type of copier do you have?

9) Any celluar or satillite communications on board?

10) TV or DBS TV on board?

11) Any other "Hi-tech" or "New" Equipment aboard?

12) Ever have any other complaints or praises about your command post?

Finally, thank you for responding and taking time to respond to way many questions here. You're help is greatly welcome here. Give me a yell if you have anyother comments. You can either post them here, or e-mail them to the address below. Thanks!]
