This is because Mosaic/CCI does not tidy up after itself very well when you close connections from Mosaic, and leaves the sockets waiting around for shutdown acknowledgement (at least it does on my machine). Just wait a few minutes and Unix should figure out that something is gone west and tie up the loose ends. However, if you mean that another program cannot make Mosaic listen for CCI connections once the user has stopped listening via the CCI menu option then this, IMHO, is the correct behaviour. The browser-user should probably always have overall control over CCI connections since a CCI client can do things in the users name. I suppose you could start up in kiosk mode which would prevent the user accessing the CCI menu option. Adrian |
