We recommend that you do not use the same provider for your web space as you do for your dial up. Unless you only need the meg or so that your dialup service provider gives you.
Reason being, is that their servers and connections are likely bogged down with all the dial-up connections to the internet, PLUS the traffic to and from the web pages. If you contract your space through a dedicated web server provider, you are only dealing with connections to your site and the few others tat may be residing on the same server. Not all the additional traffic of thousands of other dialup users accessing the internet. For the LA area, you will probably be best off with someone like Netcom for your dial-up (if they are still taking personal accounts). It has a great track record (as far as we are concerned) for local dialup, few if any outages, and rarely receive a busy signal. They may even have their 5mb personal page deal up and running by now if tat is your choice. For WebSpace providers, feel free to check us out(gotta plug :) but your best resource for finding what you need is the budgetweb pages connected with this forum site. This way you get a price range just from looking through their listings. HSHelp, Support hshelp@hawk-systems.com http://hawk-systems.com
