There is currently no work being done on 1.6. Adam Cain, the developer, resigned 4Q96 and we have been looking for a replacement. As NCSA realigns to address our new mission (PACI), there is some doubt about the continued funding for security work of this sort. Current NCSA wide security efforts are focused on intrusion dection and rapid response teams. The future of the Software Development Division (SDD)'s efforts in providing secure servers will be determined after the reorganization has been completed.
