You can put multiple entries in a list for FACE, The browser will go down the list until it finds a match on the host machine's system (the font must already be installed). If there's no match at all, the browser will just use the default font it always does. For instance, if you wanted to specify a san-serif face:

<FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Helvetica,Arial">
Where "Helvetica" is a commonly installed san-serif typeface on the Macintosh, and "Arial" the same for Windows.

For serif faces, you can use:

"Times", "Palatino": Macintosh

"Times New Roman": Windows

If you want to go with a really funky face, be sure to note it on your page and include a link where it could be downloaded.
